The Burundi Red Cross has received Personal Protective Equipment against Covid-19 from the US Office for Security Cooperation

The United States Office for Security Cooperation through the United States Embassy in Burundi donated personal protective equipment to the Burundi Red Cross. The cost of this equipment is estimated at 60,000 US dollars and will be intended to support the activities of the Burundi Red Cross but also to strengthen security cooperation. The American Office for Security Cooperation in Bujumbura has given these effects to the services in charge of the response and prevention of Covid-19 of the Burundi Red Cross to face the Covid-19 pandemic and also improve the quality of health services for the local population.
This personal protective equipment is made up of 90 face shield boxes, 600 light clothing (blouses, pants + shirts), 900 plastic aprons, 900 protective glasses, 250 medical hoods, and 1,000 caps.
The United States military attaché in Burundi Lieutenant-Colonel Gerald Mathis indicated that this donation is a sign of the support that the United States is manifesting towards the Burundian people to organizations active in the response to this pandemic in addition to the Burundi Red Cross, such donations were made at Kira Hospital, Hôpital Militaire de Kamenge and Clinique Prince louis Rwagasore.
